Growing up I enjoyed seeing British Airways planes lined up at Terminal 4 (yes I’m old) whenever I tagged a long to drop my parents off at Heathrow, who had the luxury of travelling British Airways post nationalisation, and rave about the upper deck of the Boeing 747.

When I did finally set on board my first ever BA flight in 2007 (to Amsterdam….I was a uni student after all) it just cemented the childhood romantic notion into brand loyalty.
Even though BA may not have the best J product out of the global airlines, it does give you access to American, Qantas, Qatar, JAL etc so opens up opportunities to the Far East and USA.
So childhood romantic memories + Oneworld reward opportunities across partner Airlines = the reason for BAEC and Oneworld.
Now let’s go get that shiny Gold Card!
